Coping Boxes

Before I post my super long time consuming post on my 6 week work out routine, I thought I'd talk about my coping boxes!

My best friend introduced me to them and she taught me how to make them, I just kind of put my own spin on them. I just put my first item ever on Etsy. *nervous!*, so I thought I'd share the product I made with all of you and show you exclusive pictures not on my listing.

Here's the info that I wrote for my listing. I feel that it really sums up what they are and how they work.

"Coping boxes" are a unique and fun way to get out of a slump, decrease stress, sadness, anger, or any other intense emotion.

Used by many therapists as a technique to control emotions, coping boxes are a great way to divert someone from the undesirable situation that they are in so that they can come back to the problem and solve it with a clear mind.

How they work is that a person blindly pulls out a slip of paper and must try their best to enact the relaxing or therapeutic action listed on the slip of paper. It works, believe me!

This coping box has it's outside completely covered in beautiful magazine pictures, collaged and sealed with a glossy finish. Inside are 25 handwritten ideas written on cute slips of paper of what a person can do to raise their spirits!

Of course, the slips of paper may be removed and the box can stand on it's own and store anything from jewelry, to loose change.

This box would be a perfect gift for anyone in your life who you feel may need their spirits lifted, or a self-gift if you think that this might help you!

Of course, if you're crafty like me, try to make your own! I absolutely love this idea and think that everyone should have a coping box! (This is quite evident since I have made them for everyone in my family, I even sent my cousin in Australia a "coping envelope" because I wasn't able to ship a whole box! haha.)

If you make one please take pictures and show them to me! I would love to see them and I definitely urge you to make your own!

Here are the pictures! I hope you like! I actually made it tonight. It was very therapeutic after a long day. And if you wish to see the listing, it's right here:
